Two Playing Mew

On the LJ community pkmncollectors, I make a free commission for anyone buying/trading for me. artistic_g4m3r asked for a picture of a Mew and its Shiny version together.

Let's get one thing straight here: I love Mewtwo, Scyther and Mew the most of all the 400+ Pokémon. To the extent that for years now, I have been afraid of drawing them because I might "insult" their image with my crummy drawing skills. Only recently have I started getting braver and doodling Mew and Mewtwo.

Those were just doodles, and I wanted to wait before making a serious attempt. But hey, a request is a request, and I promise quality.

I spent a long time putting off working on this because of the difficulty. Despite her simply design, Mew isn't easy to draw (in my experiences, anyway *curses that odd snout*). It wasn't easy, but you know what?

I quite like the way this came out.

For my first serious attempt, I'd say it came out looking decent. Some bits were sort of frustrating, and for some reason the shading was proving difficult (probably because of the interesting poses, though, which I LOVE). I really love the shape of the front Mew's left foot, too. XD

Overall I really like it, and I hope that future attempts turn out this well! ^.^
